Anybody stayed during a strike?

Reading another thread here about poor reviews for a property in Madrid being transitioned to the Courtyard brand in the midst of an employee strike, made me wonder whether anybody here has actually stayed at a Marriott property during a strike.
A few years ago I stayed at the Ren Blackstone on Michigan Ave in Chicago. While there was no strike there, my walk every day to where I had business took me by the Congress Plaza Hotel also on Michigan Ave, where the world's longest hotel strike was taking place. http://articles.chicagotribune.com/2...nion-officials

Anybody had this happen?

A few years ago I stayed at the Marriott Boston Copley Place and returned to the hotel one afternoon to find a picket line (with incredibly loud whistles blowing) on the sidewalk in front of the hotel entrance. The employees themselves were not on strike, but apparently the property owner was using non-unionized labor to do the hotel renovation, and a local union was picketing.

Not that this would have discouraged me from staying at the property (thankfully there was no sound in my room), but as another poster wrote, the guests certainly did not have any advance notice about this.

And some are neither. What's your point?

Re: the original question. No I haven't stayed at a hotel where the employees are on strike. I have, however, attended large events that have had the hotel location changed to a different hotel because of a strike happening at the original hotel location.

Cheers.

Some of us are management and respect organized labor's right to conduct a lawful industrial action.

If a hotel's workers are on strike, I will stay elsewhere, if possible.
