Undercharged?
I booked a room at a J.W. Marriott for 2 nights, pre-paid in full and when I check Marriott's website it shows the proper amount (460 and change), but it Marriott only charged my credit card half (230 and change).
Did Marriott undercharge or do they charge the other half when you check in? Don't want to ask and it turns out I'm missing out on getting a night free, but I also don't want to not ask and turns out they only have a room for me for 1 night. Not sure if it matters but Platinum member with a little over 120 nights last year.

Assuming you show a confirmation for 2 nights, I wouldn't worry (or celebrate) until you arrive and checkout. Strange things happen with credit card billings and they tend to work out (or not in your favor). Enjoy!

I do have a confirmation and it's been about 2 weeks since I booked. The charge actually posted to my account. I'm used to there being weird pending amounts, but never had the wrong amount post.

I have seen them collect at check-out and give me strange refunds ... can go either way. Be prepared to pay the rest when you check out of the hotel.
Charging 1 night deposit is common

This might not apply to you since you've only been charged one night on the prepaid*, but there have been instances where those who have prepaid don't get a folio & it's a PITA to get nights & points credited. So the unofficial rule of thumb is to charge something, even if it's a very small amount, to your room as it will trigger a folio.
* Sounds like they only charged you the first night as a prepaid. I'd expect you to get the 2nd night charged at check-out.
Cheers.

was it a prepay rate, or a deposit required (deposit of 1 nights charges) rate?
