I am shifting some of my hotel stays to MR this year from Hilton and am getting frustrated by the time it takes for stays to post. Both Hilton and SPG seem to post within 48 hours but Marriott hotels take much longer. For those who participate in multiple programs, is this normal? If so, what is the usual timeline for Marriott?

I checked out a week ago from a Marriott property (1 night stay) and never received my invoice via email and the stay hasn't posted. I have the paper copy if I need to submit it for credit.

Also, why does it take "72 hours" to email an invoice? All SPG and some Hiltons email within minutes of checkout.

Stay posting issue

Since I am MR member, only 2-3 times I had to contact MR for crediting a missing stay.
Over the last months, my stays credited either directly they day after the stay was over or it took 2-7 days.

I mostly stay at Marriott so I didn't know how good others had it. I think a week is a little longer than usual but I am not surprised when it takes activity 3-5 days to post. I sometimes see activity post almost immediately within 24 hours. It seems to vary by hotel. I still grab the bill when leaving the hotel or from under the door so the time it took to post was not high on my radar. I don't track emails either but remember getting the bill in email within 48 hours. The bill is available on the website once activity posts. I can this being a problem for expense purposes if you want a digital copy to submit.

The digital copy is great for expenses but I use GeniusScan to make a PDF of the paper copy so I can submit my expense right away. I really grew to appreciate the emailed copies from Starwood hotels. It makes it so much easier to do expenses and make sure the stay posts correctly.
