Mega Bonus towards suite?

I earned a couple of free nights in a cat. 1-5 in the most recent Megabonus promotion. Today I found out I need to take my wife to a distant city for some surgery & I expect to be there a week (in Mon, out Fri).

I'd like to book a CBM Suite for the extra living and working space while I'm up there. Is there any way to apply these free nights to a suite? Otherwise, I'm not sure that I'll use them since most of my cat. 1-5 stays are for work and our occasional vacations are usually in higher category locations.

Any other suggestions/tricks etc.? I'm gold if it matters.

the certs are valid for standard rooms, however Marriott does have some all suite props ...... since you didn't state the city you're intending to go can't offer any further advice.....

gold (or P) does not change the ability to use certs for suites, except perhaps at checkin.......

Thanks BKKLEE, about what I expected.

No flexibility in the location, which needs to be near the hospital and is not an all-suite property.

Mrs. Greenskin's requirement for vacation hotels is that they must be nicer than our bedroom. She says that means cat. 6 and up (I'd give us cat. 5, but I don't make the rules).

Maybe I'll take the kids on a boys only trip & use the certs. then.

Book a room and call the hotel and speak to the front desk MGR and ask for the upgrade (even offer to pay a small supplement if worth it to you). Is this the CY Mayo by any chance?
