Property recommendation

I am looking to take a vacation with my girlfriend toward the end of September, beginning of October. I plan to use points, somewhere around 120k for 5 nights (4 nights+1 free)

Does anyone have any recommendations for where we should go? We would be leaving from the NY area, so flight costs are a concern. Other than that, we are willing to go anywhere in the world. I was looking at the list of properties that offer seasonal discounts, and some seem very interesting.

I am a Marriott Platinum member if that makes a difference.

Can you be a bit more specific?
- International or domestic location?
- Beach resort or city vacation?

This is not a beach warm weather destination, but one of these days I highly recommend that you try Wentworth by the Sea, a Marriott resort in northern New Hampshire, across the river from Maine. It's a great time of year to go and a wonderful location for all things lobster. It's a beautiful property with great historic character, one that we enjoy very much.

OK, over to others for beach suggestions.

OP-how old are you? I am 38 and feel like the youngest by 2-3 generations when I stay here...

BTW-it is a cool place. MrsPP40 enjoys it

Early 20s, so probably not a good option for me.

My husband and I are late 20s/early 30s and stayed at Scrub Island Resort in the BVIs back in May - cannot recommend that property enough. Great rooms, service, food, activites, etc. My husband says it is his favorite property we have visited (it's my #2, I still prefer Hawaii). It looks like they have a seasonal award discount in the fall - 5 nights for 120k, but it is hurricane season, so that can be a concern.

Have not stayed here, but my co-workers all highly recommend the Aruba Marriott and they also have a seasonal discount. It should be far enough south that hurricanes should not be an issue.

Great call. Great hotel but truly wonderful area. Portsmouth, NH is wonderful if you're into great food, great restaurants, great wine and lots of lobster. A stay at Wentworth was the catalyst in what has become a family tradition of a summer week in Kittery, ME.

Khao Lak looks extremely nice but the flights to get there are too expensive. My guess is that the Caribbean/BVI would be cheaper to get to.

good choice, but its a Cat 8 (40k/night) which exceeds the desired 120k cap...........also, actually finding availability for 5-nights to get 5th night "free" is a task unto itself.........
