Dumb Question Alert
Long story short we are heading to Europe 3 days early and am out of MR points.
I booked a Marriott property with Avios points and was wondering if I am entitled to platinum benefits.
Thanks in advance and apologies if it has been discussed previously.

Yes. As long as your MR is known to them at one point, at latest at check-in.

Yes, you should be entitled to your Platinum benefits. I'd contact the hotel in advance to make sure your MR number is added to the reservation

It doesn't hurt to ask for upgrade when you call and give them your MR number. Sometimes I contact hotels ahead of time and usually they are good about reserving me a better room.

I don't have the ability to call internationally. Would the plat desk call on my behalf or someone know how to send them an e-mail. Don't have skype but guess I could set it up.
The plat desk said they could not enter my number despite seeing the reservation.

You should definitely sign up for skype or vyke mobile. They're not only good for making international calls but also come in handy when you're travelling overseas. You can make really cheap calls wherever you have wi-fi or data service
