Reasonable compensation request.....

for finding the remains of a dog having done his "business" under the desk of the room we were checked into late Friday night???

FWIW I have Platinum Status

What property? Or at least property type-is this a Townplace or similar that welcomes pets?

Would think a complementary night at a minimum. Did you discover immediately or did you get settled in? Were you moved or did they clean right then & there?

I once checked into a CY to find the room a mess and not made up but that was just a long walk back to the FD for another room. This sounds horrible...

Moved to another room, comp night, and some points.

I once got 20,000 points for a gross discovery under the bed ... let's just say the previous occupants of the room must have had a "fun" night the prior night.
I got a different room and 20,000 points from a very apologetic GM.

It was, in fact, a Townplace 2 bedroom suite. We were moved to another room and told the GM was the only one with the authority to "comp" us and that she would contact us, upon her return, first thing Monday morning. The fact that I am still awaiting her call, is what lead to this post, and the upcoming escalation of the matter.

I'd call the GM.

I did try one courtesy call but was informed that she is on vacation till next Monday. Grrrrrr.....

nachosdelux Apr 2, 2013 6:22 pm

#1 or #2?

#2 is worth double the compensation (at least).

rylan Apr 2, 2013 6:56 pm

I'd be expecting a comp'd night and points at least.

I find that unacceptable. So, customers are left hanging during vacations? Others need to be empowered. I would absolutely make sure this is documented. I would email Marriott Customer Service and explain the entire situation for the record. Tell them what you like. BECAUSE, I wouldn't want to be paying for that room if I wasn't getting a large number of points or something. After leaving, your ability to resolve this drops substantially.
