Yes, please let us know if the 135k option for the $1k gift card will still be in place? Otherwise, I will order a gift check before year end.

Also, does the gift check have to be used all at once? or can you keep any residual value from the first use for a completely separate stay later? Thanks!

Currently, you do not get (1) certificate for $1000 - it is 20 certs of $50 each. So if your stay is $185, you would use (3) certs. (you cannot get change back, so you would not want to use 4 certs). You can then use the remaining certs for future stays or dining.

I just called in to order some checks and the Platimun Customer Service line is closed. I wanted to combine my account with my wife's account to load up on the checks. Any way to do that on the website.

Marriott Gift Cheques Going Away

Thank you for all your info. Just purchased 2 packs of cheques, have 2 vacations scheduled this year. FT is outstanding for all this up to date data, even if it's not going away in 2012. Have a great and safe New Year everyone!

I do not beleive there is. Since we don't know for certain what the point cost will be in 2012 you might want to order one set on line today to be certain to get them at the old "price".

Rushed home from golf (in shorts, 72 degrees - this is why you put up with Houston summers), hopped online to buy my certificates before the offer expired.

Ordered the certs, then popped over the FT to see what was going on.

Found out the offer was extended.

Happy the offer was extended, but now wish I had not ordered them just to give myself some flexibility until I really need them.

Moral of the story? Always consult FT before doing anything, ever.

Marie, thanks for the info that the gift cheques are being extended for 2012 at the 135k level. Great news. :)

A nice email to customer service will give you info on return/redepositing the cheques

Kind of extreme. This could have many connotations.

LMAO

It HAS NOT been confirmed that they will will be available at the 135,000 point level, only that they will be extended through 2012.

Oh oops, guess I read into Marie's post a bit much when I saw that it was extended through 2012. Anyway, as of now it is still available on the website at 135k, but it shows the offer expires Dec 31 2011.

Now that is has been confirmed that this deal will extend to at least 12/31/12, has anyone thought of or sent these back for a reposting of points?

Did 270,000 worth with no definite plans and as I calculate the return being about .83 cents per point, I wouldn't mind reversing the panic. Anyone do this with success and method?

Thanks

They're there at 135k points. I just looked

Also, wanted to respond to when using these are better than using points for free rooms: The points per night are going to be for the regular rate. I went to the CY in Orlando using the certs. Why? My room rate included 2 adult and 2 child tickets to DisneyWorld. Since they were part of the room rate, they were covered by these certs (which were purchased with points, so cost me $0 out of pocket). Incidentally, I booked some additional nights around the stay, so we were there from 12/24 - 12/31, 4 days at Disney, one night had a $25 incidentals benefit, and one night was paid with my Cat 1-4 cert from my Marriott Visa.

All in all, 6 of my 7 nights (not the cert from the Visa) counted toward my MegaBonus (good thing too...needed it to hit the 50k bonus), and I earned just shy of 27k points. And Big Crumbs paid me out just over $70. :)

I returned the $1000 cheques and the points re-deposited about a week later. No drama.

I ordered mine 12/31/11 and have still not received them. How do they arrive? Do they look like junk mail?
