Entertainment Rate Code

I have read the previous information about this rate code, but not finding the answers I need. Forgive me for bringing this up again.
Does anyone have experience with obtaining a Entertainment Book ID Card and using this rate code?

I have been to the "entertaiment" website and it wants be to purchase a local book for Utah for $20. Does this book have the ID card that I need to book this rate code?

There seems to be some great 50% off rates out there.

Thanks so much...

-Tim

Thanks for your response.

Just a bit more clarification, I promise. The entertainment book seems to be geared to your specific aread. For example, I can buy a book for Utah, Houston Texas, Dallas, etc..

Does every book work for the entertainment rate across the county, or just for the city that you bought?

Thanks again.

The Entertainment books are geared to one specific area. Most of the "meat" of the book is paper coupons that you present for discounts at local businesses.

In the back of the Entertainment book is a section full of national discounts. United Airlines, Midas, 1800flowers, eBags, plus a few others. Some of these have paper coupons; others have a discount code you enter into a website. Finally, in the very back are all of the hotels.

For most of the hotels, it simply tells you a number to call to book the rate, and then the process is that you simply take your ID card with you to the hotel and show it at check-in. In the case of Marriott, you might be able to find the rates online yourself by playing with the discount code field. (Search this forum on Entertainment and you might find the code to use. I think it's either ENT, LPR, or NPR.)

You do not need to buy separate books for the various cities in which you want to do hotel stays. Just buy your Utah book and carry the ID card with you.

If you really want other locations, Entertainment will be happy to send those books to you in Utah as well. Last year, I bought my home location plus Chicago and Hawaii because I wanted specific local coupons out of those books that were worth more to me than the cost of the book.

The card normally pays for itself on a single-night Marriott stay. The rate is bundled under the NPR promotional code for hotels that honor it.

I have to agree that the book is a good value. It saved around 70GBP per night (x3) at Chancery Court. That was during the week. On the weekend I switched to a AAA rate to save a little more . It seems to work better at some hotels then others. Marriott is good because, if it is offered, you can see the rate. They did ask to see the card at check in. The book also saved me 10% on a set of truck tires(~$50).
