I'm sorry, but it is NOT the customer's job to train the employees! Marriott has a PP program. Marriott should train the employees on what it is & what it offers.
Cheers. Part of the problem is that the non-Marriott owned properties are hit or miss. I've never survey to see if the Marriott owned properties are better but I would guess the non-Marriott owned are more inconsistent. |

Oh, I agree we shouldn't. But if you go to the same property over and over again and they don't deliver you have a choice to accept the lack of benefits or you can force the issue.

Ah but it's like a drug, once you taste the sweet feelings of being treated unbelievably well you keep hoping it will be the same next time.
For example, heading to Santiago in the Spring, I'll need an 8am checkin and a 6pm check out. I could go to another chain but will I get that, I wouldn't count on it. Hoping they'll give me a nice room or suite as well. I don't make my reservations over the phone but I do get the PP line to ping the hotel about upgrades etc. And I have had them work on a rate problem (i.e. 4 nights at a lower rate with a 5th at a higher rate) where they got the hotel to agree. Definitely, don't think about them for making a res, but I do willingly call them if I have questions or issues with my Res or to ping the hotel. |

Ok fine...Dear Marriott...Thank you for the one year free subscription that came with my PP package. It is a lot better than the solar charger you gave me last year :D :D :D

Used 20% off for the last time at the EWR Marriott. Very sad that benefit is gone. :td:

2012 Marriott rewards
I would agree with several of the posts here. I have stayed over 3400 nights in Marriott's and I would like have lifetime platinum status. I would also think we should get a 100% bonus instead of the current 50%. We should get rewarded for our loyalty.Lately I have experienced several problems at Marriott properties.
|
Did we already know the 20% discount was going away? I ask because when I got my card I immediately looked at the back expecting it to be gone. I'm not sure if that was the cynic in me or if I had heard that here before.
I have to admit I was sort of releaved it was gone. I've been staying in the same Renaissance for the past two years, and It's time I got out of the hotel more to eat. This is the perfect motivation. Thank you Marriott! |

Platinum Premier - Easy Come, Easy Go
I logged on to the Marriott Rewards site today to make a reservation, and discovered that I have been downgraded for 2012 from PP to "just plain Platinum".
I received the PP rather unexpectedly last year (126 nights including roll-overs) although I've been Platinum for a number of years running. In 2011 I had 123 or 124 nights total including roll-overs, but only 73 actual nights earned. I suspect they don't renew PP status unless you have 75 or more actual nights earned in the year, not counting roll-overs. So, when I finally receive my program card for 2012, it won't be the black one. Anyone else get down-graded? If so, did you have 75 or more actual nights -- exclusive of roll-overs -- in 2011? |

I think your "heavy lifting" toward Lifetime Platinum is behind you. With 3400 nights (you need only 1000 for lifetime Platinum), you almost certainly have already earned the 2 million points also needed to get LT Platinum, and you must have earned Platinum at least once, so once you have 12 years as a Marriott Rewards member (if you don't already have them, it should happen soon) you'll automatically have your Lifetime Platinum. |
Congratulations
You just received extra rollover nights and lost absolutely nothing. |

PP and P have same Roll-over
Rollover is same for both.
Everything over 75 Rolled over when I was Platinum and everything over 75 rolls over not that I am PP. As other threads have noted, the only difference you will find this year is that you do not get the black card, as Marriott is offer nothing extra for PP other than black card, a phone number and a useless subscription to the WSJ app (not online WSJ, just the useless App) |
