I just got this promo in the mail.

Category 1-4 is terrible. I am on the road so much, why would I want to spend my weekend at a category 1-4? C'mon, give us the higher level categories. I didn't even use my certs from the last take two promo. At least Starwood and Hyatt let you use your promo free nights at their higher level hotels. I'd rather continue working on requalifying for Starwood Platinum and Hyatt Diamond.

With all due respect, that's just silly. Marriott has LOTS and LOTS of very fine category 4 hotels.

I never fail to use my free-weekend-night certificates -- and I don't use them at dumps! Recently, I used one at the Renaissance Hotel in Plantation, FL (just west of Ft. Lauderdale). That place is fabulous.

I agree with you Bruce that Marriott has several great Cat 3s & 4s, but that is not the case on the West Coast (AZ & CA specifically). I do not want to have to fly for my weekends (I already do at least 2 times a week) and would rather prefer something within driving distance. But any good property out here is a Cat 5 or 6 (mostly 6). I don't blame them though, southern Cal (and AZ in the winter) is a tourist hub and they do fill up the rooms on weekends so no point giving away a free room.

I've even used category 4 certificates in California. As I recall, a couple of Courtyards north of San Francisco are category 4: Larkspur and Santa Rosa. Both are nice enough, particularly Santa Rosa.

How soon do you think we can start booking the free weekend?

The Promo ends June 15. Do you think we can book a late June weekend on this? Or is it going to be july before we get the x14's?
