Marriott Promos

Does anyone know if Marriott is running any promos? The 2 free night expired on the 31st and I have not been able to find anything. Thanks

Don't know of any new promos, but the winter elite exclusive coupons just arrived, and there are some nice 2-for-1 stay offers and 2-for-1 dining certificates there.

Hopefully we'll hear something else soon!

Wow, now that's demanding! The 'Take Two' promo has only been over for a few days and you're already wanting another one? Patience, patience. Good things come to those who wait.

I don't think he was being demanding at all.

That said, keep in mind - if you travel every week and don't really care which program you stay with on a particular week because your tops in two or more, promos help to push it one way or the other. For instance, about 30 mins ago I realized I didn't have a hotel reservation for this upcoming week. For me, it was either Hilton or Marriott - in this city the Hilton does have high speed access, the Marriott doesn't. So, I went online, tried to book Hilton, website went kaput on me, so I called Diamond line, sat on hold for 15 mins. In that 15 mins I wandered over to Marriott website, went all the way through the res engine till the very last page and waited. After 15 mins and still no answer I hung up on Hilton and stayed with Marriott.

My point here is Hilton just lost out on a few thousand in revenue for something as simple as my lack of patience for a few mins, this week Marriott won out. Next week, the race starts over again - if Marriott's running a promo, they get my business if it's worth it - just like they got my business for a few weeks because of the 2 for 1 promo deal.

Simple as that for me.

I appreciate what you're saying but, IMHO, it's a little unreasonable to expect there to be constant promo's. You'd probably admit that if there were, you'd feel bombarded with emails from hotel programs promoting some promo or another. The public would eventually tune out all the excess informational clutter, and the impact of promo's would diminish. I'd rather have 2 or 3 really good promo's per year than 7 or 8 weak and wimpy offerings. But that's just me.

There's a big difference between "expecting" constant promos and asking if any are currently running. Seems like a reasonable question to me. The fact that one just ended is irrelevant really.

mymiles2go is right on the money.

Most of the business-tier hotels are generic at this point ... a commodity. One of the few distinguishing features available to them is FF promotions ... and that's particularly true during the slow 1st Quarter of the year, when there are few travelers and LOTS of empty rooms to fill.

When you're already at the top of every chain's ladder, it's the little things that end up making the decision.

Well, IMHO, extending Plat status to 2005, is quite generous, and certainly qualify.
