I'm going to be in Paris in late July, and I also was unable to book award rooms at the Paris Marriott.

It seems like the consensus here is that the Renaissance is a reasonable alternative. Is this preferrable to the Courtyard in Neuilly (sp?)?

I've never found award rooms at this hotel from April thru the summer. I'm not even sure they offer them during these months. (possibly blacked out).
If they do, I guess you've got to be quick, when they're offered.

Just wanted to bring this back to the top. I assume still no lounge but that Platinums still get a continental breakfast. Are the restaurants open now? What is the weather like in early December? Staying on an award stay, how has upgrade success been. Can you charge tours to your room bill? Any help would be appreciated.

I was able to get an award reservation for June 2002 with a 4 month advance booking. I was somewhat disappointed with the hotel, and felt that it did not deserve the top category rating (nothing wrong with the hotel, just that I had high expectations from the top rated property).

Call me easy to please, but, my husband and I have just returned from a one week stay at the Paris Marriott and we loved it. We arrived at the hotel at around 11 a.m. and by a little after noon we were in our room. An hour later a knock at the door brought a bottle of champagne, fresh fruit, pastries, and a large bottle of Evian. Every day after sightseeing and shopping we were greeted with a similar gift...minus champagne. We did not attend the manager's reception but it looked nice.

I thought the lobby was very pretty. The room, while not decorated elegantly, was large, comfortable and as nice as any Marriott hotel of the same rating. Marriott is not the Ritz or a romantic boutique hotel. Marble bathroom, large tub with hand held shower attachment, separate glassed in shower, three phones, balcony, very friendly staff...I just could not find anything to complain about ... especially since I did not pay a dime for a weeks stay in Paris.

Bodes well as my wife and I will be there in just over a month ... thanks for the update ..

I was wondering what I might expect as a Gold at the Paris Marriott? I wil be there for one night Dec 4th on a reward stay. (We need to spend the night in Paris on our return from Italy to make the flight schedule work.)

It seems there is no lounge. Any chance for an upgraded room since it is only for 1 night?
