Anyone stayed at both the County Hall and Chancery Court? It looks like the Chancery Court property is new. I am currently booked at the County Hall for a week in July and wondering if I should switch to Chancery Court. I'm there as a tourist.

Thanks!

In London, you can't beat the County Hall. Ask for the executive level with a central room overlooking the Thames. You can hear Big Ben strike from your bed and see Parliament from your pillow!

Domestically, the Marriot Club Villas on Ft. Lauderdale beach are beautiful and huge! A 2BR condo-type room goes for >$500/nite, so the points are a great deal.

Michael, I have searched the Marriott website and there is nothing called the "Villas on Ft. Lauderdale Beach". Have stayed many times at the Marriott Harbor Beach, but there are no villas there. There is the Marriott Beach Place Towers, but those are timeshare apartments, not villas, and they are not ON the beach, but across a busy street from the public beach. I believe "villas" are usually stand-alone units or only a couple of units in a one story building. What place are you referring to??

JIMCHI, Yes, I am referring to the Marriott Vacation Club Villas - a misnomer because they are actually a high rise. While they are technically across the street from the beach, the ocean view from your room is completely unobstructed and there is an underground tunnel that connects the hotel and shopping area to the beach, so it's not a big deal. The beach is NOT private but is typically not too crowded. The rooms are beautifully decorated and fully furnished.

The County Hall and Chancery Court are very different properties. Personally, I'd choose the Chancery Court, as I like the newer, converted-castle atmosphere and its location (somewhat removed from the tourist hordes, but still extremely well positioned). The County Hall is nice, but you should note that a view overlooking the Thames is not exactly the prettiest view in the world...
