best practices or worst practices?
These comments may be scrapped but here goes...many of you frequent travelers have elderly parents and should be aware of the practices of the Marriott's Forum property which is a retirement facility. First of all, when my mother moved into the Forum at the Woodlands, she was charged a $2200 processing fee. Not a deposit, those are refundable. What process could possibly cost $2200?? Now, she needs to move out because of an illness in the family in another city, and because she only gave 5 weeks notice to move out at the end of December, they're saying she has to pay $2200 rent for January because according to her lease she is supposed to give a 60 day notice! The kicker is that her lease expires at the end of December! I work for Marriott's major competition so I well know that Flyertalkers are a savvy bunch. Is Marriott so underhanded in all of its dealings?? Does Marriott take advantage of its other customers like they do the elderly?

No, Marriott does not take advantage of any of their customers.

I'm happy to say that the situation has been rectified to our satisfaction.
