Marriott Beds are the Worst anywhere
Do any of you have the same problems I do getting a good sleep on the 3" slab of foam rubber Marriott has standardized on? After a few nites on a Marriott bed it is such a relief to get home to my own bed. When is Marriott going to wake up?

I find it amazing that they can charge their rates and still provide a foam matress - which is typically hanging over the edge of the box spring. Its the primary reason (along with their cheap sheets) that I've moved on to other hotels.

Those foam mattresses are WORN out! A new one, which doesn't stay the way very long, is not a problem.
I think the hotels are well used and they are living on a past reputation as far as quality goes. Locations are very good for me. But I am looking around also.

Thank you... I am glad to see that there are folks out there that have the same back problem I do after sleeping on that so called bed. Just to let you know, help is on the way. I was on a flight to HNL in F class with a lady that was an interior decorator for Marriott Vacation clubs. I told her that something has to be done with those beds! She said that the owner of the mattress company is very good friends with JW, and that all protocol for all Marriott hotels is that they have that mattress. She said that the new renovated hotels will have thicker beds. I recently stayed at a new courtyard and it did have a thicker mattress. Who knows, I'm staying at Hiltons where I can walk the next morning after sleeping.

I stay at Marriott's often and have never had a problem with their mattresses. I know its no heavenly bed, but then again its no Best Western, Wyndham Garden, or Homewood Suites bed. Now those just stink.

JW good friends with mattress company. Yes, they belong to the same club, it is called a religion.
Priceline has put me in a dozen Marriott properties. The beds were bad fifteen years ago when I made a decision to pass on these properties. It has always amused me that so many tolerate this place.

It's not just the Marriot's beds are bad, I found Hilton's bed even worse sometimes.

I personally hate it when I frequectly get bedsheets that are way too short for the bed.
I find myself retucking in the bottom sheet at bedtime. I also feel like such a fool DOING WHAT THE MAID SHOULD HAVE DONE RIGHT IN THE FIRST PLACE!
But for some reason, I still slept in Marriott beds 80 nights last year....

I have never understood, why the top sheet and blanket is tucked in under the mattress. When you pull the top sheet out, the bottom sheet comes out also.

Why are they taught to do it that way? - because it's done like that all over the chain. It's ridiculous. I thought I was the only one it bothered. Guess not.
But the maids who make up the bed with the pad in big wrinkles underneath the sheet get my ultimate boobie prize in the housekeeping department. That's much too common.
OTOH, the actual beds (crummy foam mattresses and all) don't usually bother me. Hilton beds now - there are Hiltons where if I stay 2 nights, by the second morning, I can't walk . Different strokes, I guess.

JW's beds are better as are the sheets. But I have a problem more with the sheets than the beds. Hate the sheets! And am finding more and more problems (i.e. stains, cleanliness, etc.) even on the concierge level and at the JW's.

I myself have had only one really bad night in a Marriott in many years of platinum membership, and have never thought the mattresses uncomfortable. Maybe I missed the worst of them, or maybe I am just not as sensitive to those things. If it really bothers one, one should not spend 80 nights a year at a Marriott.
