I had issues at that hotel a little over a year ago and was also disappointed at the staff's response. Maybe the people at the Palm Beach FS are so used to failure that it doesn't impact them anymore. Failure must be so common that it's treated as just another day at the office. Obviously nothing has changed since last year. (Instead of feather free King, my blocked room had feathers and Queens, as well as a crib...BOGO cert was lost and the second one I gave them was not honored until I called MI, and then both were miraculously found, but not until after they called me a liar who never gave them the cert.)

Further research has taught me a few things.
1) Many older hotels (this one is nice and been remodeled recently) have access to the batteries from the outside of the door allowing what happened here to be possible.
2) Newer locks access the batteries from inside the room and do in fact default to "lock" rather than "unlock"....

For the others going on about specific properties, please post the problems/results/thoughts in the property threads, as that would help FTers doing a search on the property.
BTW - on the housekeeper seeing the fiancee nude thing - put the deadbolt across. While they shouldn't enter before you answer, that one is on you too. The color of the bathroom is irrelevant. Other difficulties could or could not be a problem, but I'd bring them up w/ GM.
Cheers.
