Does Marriott Rewards offer a Status Match?

Does Marriott Rewards offer a Status Match?
I am a Diamond (top tier) member of the Hilton HHonors program. One of our new regional offices is now closer to a Marriott versus the Hilton that I normally use in that area. I would like to stay at that particular Marriott (+/- 80 nts/yr), does anyone know if Marriott offers a match in program status?

Unfortunately, don't count on it. Marriott is pretty tough on their status stuff. They really make you earn your status as I and my fellow Marriott Rewards members have discovered. Personally, I do not know of any person who has received a "status match" from any other chain. If there is someone out there who reads this who knows of a person who has received one, please let us all know the details.
I have several associates who are Hilton Diamonds who would like to jump to Marriott, as well. Like you, they just do not want to start all over again.

I know Marriott is tough, but I'd still send the letter along with a copy of your HH Diamond statement.
Tell them you are willing to give them 75-80 nights at that property instead of Hilton. Hotel chains, like airlines, love to steal customers from the competition.
I think you may have a chance...but would be surprised if they comped you anything higher than Gold. Really don't think they'd give you Platinum.
