Currently Silver, will be Gold by Dec. 5th.
Mine was e-mailed...10 nights for 10K during the same time period stated above.
Sure wish I'd gotten the 15/30K (already have 10 nights booked in first 3 weeks of January.

I just got gold a couple of weeks ago and mine was a measly 15,000 for 8 nights.

My offer was 15 nights for 15,000 points.
As Platinum I guess they know when they have you . . .
This promo isn't worth much - very disappointing to see they are not rewarding their high end customers!

I may have received the worst offer for the second year in a row.
8 nights. 5,000 points. Big deal.

Travelweary: I stand corrected. From the first few posts before mine, it looked clear that non-elites were getting 5-for-5, Silvers were getting 5-for-10, and Golds/Plats were getting 10-for-20 or 15-for-30.
After reading all of the later posts, I'm in agreement that there's nothing straightforward about who gets what award. I guess I'm happy with my 5-for-10. I'd rather have that than 15-for-15. Maybe they are using a random number generator???

rmccamy: I can see how that happened. I'd rather have your 5 for 10 also rather than my 5 for 5! It's interesting, because I stayed almost exclusively at Mariotts well into 1998 and in 1999 switched to Hilton mostly. You'd think they'd want to encourage my return more than they have. There probably is an algorithm somewhere that formulates the individual offer, but I prefer your random number generator theory. It seems to make the most sense if there is any to be made.

Absolutely nothing here (appears to be because I have my account set to miles right now, needing a couple of Springhill half-credits to top off my Southwest account). Will get back to you after that's done and I'm once again on points.
Update--got the email, and I get 5k for five nights (shouldn't be too hard with the frantic February of travel I have planned). I'm Silver.

It looks like they are targeting on more than just status since different Plats (I'm one) got different offers. It tops out it seems at 15 nights for 30k which is what I got.. My travel pattern has been three weeks at corporate rates at a Denver Marriott and about a dozen other weekends at very cheap weekend rates at other Marriotts throughout the company. Without the extension this year I would have barely made Gold this year.

I got the 10 for 20 promo. I can make that without a lot of trouble. My reason for even trying is get to the 200K award (this will put me over the top). After that, it looks like it will be time to move on to another hotel chain.
I worked hard to become Gold this year with Marriott. I did this in early September and have been underwhelmed in how I have been treated by Marriott properties since then. I keep getting 'Yes, we have upgraded you to a very nice room, but nothing is available on the conciege level'. Grrrr.... The folks at Courtyard are the only ones who have gone out of their way for me.
I was comped to Gold at Starwood till early 2001(by a kind member of FlyerTalk) and have a couple more stays with them by the end of the year. I was also comped to Gold by Hilton to 2002(have no reason why - just received the the card with a welcome note).
I think that for next year, I will concentrate on Hilton. For the same number of stays that I had with Marriott, I can make top tier with Hilton and may still have enough stays left to make 2nd tier with Hyatt.
I really like the consistency of the Marriott product, but I get the same treatment regardless of status, so why bother trying to get status.
Sorry for venting.
