USE OF REWARD POINTS
Maybe it's just me, it just seems like its practically IMPOSSIBLE to use MREWARDS POINTS when and where I would like.
Heaven forbid in the Hawaiian islands...

Just returned from a trip to Hawaii. S
pent 3 nights at JW Ihilani on Oahu.
Total hotel bill was $3 (I still get mad that they make you pay for local calls).
Had no problem making reservation and even upgraded room view.
If you get a chance, this is well worth the points. Wonderful area, beautiful beach, away from crowds downtown, and the bell staff learned my name and car by afternoon of first day. When they would see me walk towards door, someone was already going to get my car.
In a word. Wonderful.
And no problm booking using rewards.

I found it very easy to book 5 nights at the Puerto Vallarta Marriott with an upgrade to a suite with a view of the water. Only gave them 7 days advance notice.

I think they would get too many people mad if folks were downgraded.. did you notice in the fine print that you only get free phone calls at Courtyard for Gold or Higher.. That doesn't bother me but it will free up lines!!!
