Last year I had a free stay count towards the promotion (1 free night for every 2nd paid stay). This was in a FS Marriott where I had dinner. Don't know if I was just lucky. This was not a strategy I had upfront and I noted it only afterwards.

Any reports on people that tried this or will I be the first?
PS I would prefer the 6 stay to the 12 days. So I rather move this promotion than cancel and do a std gold challenge.

I am silver and got the gold card a few days ago. I thought it was linked to my new Marriott Rewards Visa card. Anyway, I am thinking about trying to meet the challenge.

Did anybody try to move it to another period? I have a bunch of stays end june, first half of july. None in April and May. If I could include July in the challenge that would be better AND I would remain Gold till the end of the year...
