This is only the 2nd time...

Received the below in my emails today..WOW.
Very nice. May have to re-think the " I don't stay in Res Inn 'cause you only get 1/2 the points" philosophy..at least in Deerfield!

Dear Sophiegirl,

On behalf of the Residence Inn Deerfield team I would like to thank you for your recent stay with us! .I understand that this was your first time staying with us. We appreciate your business and I hope that your overall stay went well.

Please let me know if there is anything we can do to make your next stay with us even more comfortable as we look forward to honoring your future business!

Have a wonderful day!

Best regards,

I've received a few of these, but suspect they are standard "form" emails. Not enough for me to miss 1/2 my points.

Oh, I have received the standard" thank you for your stay emails" plenty of times. But this is only the 2nd time it has actually addressed specifics of my stay. Seems a little complicated to have form emails that cover every specific and always choose the correct one...but I am not a techno whiz, so perhaps you are correct.

And I will give up the points to have a fireplace when it is snowing and I am stuck in a hotel....

On a related note, why, oh why does Marriott only give you half the points for Residence Inn stays? I don't think Hilton has any properties that do so.

Seems that I've been getting e-mails for the last few stays before I actually get there (Full Service Marriotts) from the concierge desk saying if I need anything special to contact them. Re-Qualified for PM a short time ago after being gold for about 6 years, so maybe that's the difference? Don't know why but I appreciate getting these e-mails.
