Marriott e-cert question?
This may have been discussed somewhere on the forum but I have tried to find some info and cannot, so here goes.
I had my mom apply for the Marriott Rewards card so she could pick up the 70,000 pts and the free e-cert cat 1-4. I am also an authorized user of her card & have my own card and Rewards acct. She was approved instantly, the cards have arrived and the e-cert & silver status have posted to her acct. I've read through the T&C and read the explanation on how to transfer pts from one account to another but cannot find any info on transferring the e-cert to another acct. My mom is 96 yrs young but has no intention of using the e-cert. Do any of you FT experts know how I can use the e-cert.

I think the certs are technically non-transferable but make the reservation in your Mom's name and add your name as a 2nd guest. Shouldn't be a problem at check-in, I've given my certs to my son many times. Same last name should help too.
Points not an issue as they can be gifted but it takes a call to setup and do so.
Please correct me if wrong!
