Free night cert problems

called the marriot gold line and thought i made a two night stay using my free night cert from the magabonus ,but the reservation says the following
Marriott Rewards Redemption
You do not have e-certificate(s) for this reservation. If you will not earn the required points in time, you may purchase the points you need.
Purchase points and order e-certificate(s).
If you have not ordered e-certificate(s) seven days prior to your reservation, customer support will contact you to discuss payment options.
I've already called the gold line twice and they still have not fixed the problem

Do you have two unused certs in your account? If so cancel the two night reservation. Make 2 one night reservations and as you make each one it should ask you if you want to use your existing cert.

I had the same issue. After 2 or 3 days, it was posted correctly on my reservation (e-cert stay.) I did not have to do anything or call anyone for this to happen.

I had a similar problem with using my 7 night cert from a travel package.
