Apologies if this has been covered before.

Booked a Sunday night package for breakfast & dinner at Marriott Hanbury Manor for Ł150. Saw in my Platinum/Members Offers section that there is an offer for getting a free second night when a weekend night is booked. "Treat Yourself to A Weekend Escape and A Free Second Night"

Called Platinum helpline and the lady confirmed that I would indeed have the Monday night free with this offer. I then asked if my first nights package would be honoured on the free 2nd night (Dinner & Breakfast) to which she categorically replied yes. She has booked the 2nd night on a breakfast & dinner package which is Ł228 and she has assured me that I would not have to pay this Ł228 on the 2night (even though this is more than the 1st night)

Having looked at the offer page (The one i have to print off) it does clearly say that the certificate is for room only and does not include meals however as it is booked as a package I am wondering if this fact overrides this condition. I asked the lady at least 4 times that I would definitely receive the full package entitlement on the 2nd night even though it was more expensive than the 1st paid night and she was adamant that yes indeed I would. She basically said that the 2nd nights cost was completely irrelevant to me as it would be free. But its the dinner & breakfast issue which is my main concern as I want to make sure this has been done correctly.

Can anyone please confirm this all for me?

Many thanks

***UPDATE***

I have now just read in the details of this offer that it appears this hotel is not in the participating list of non US hotels. I am now even more confused as surely this should have been picked up by the Plat help desk UNLESS they are referring to another offer which gives a free night and I'm not looking at the correct one. Please Please help!

Problems
I have listed the areas which the hotel try get out of the deal:-

1) T&C clause "5.Weekend nights are designated as Friday, Saturday and/or Sunday nights only" - The second free night has to be a weekend night so either Saturday or Sunday night."

2) T&C Clause "6.This offer is valid for the expense of a standard Marriott guest room and room-related taxes only and does not apply to food, beverage, service charges, other taxes or expenses." Dinner is usually counted as food.

3) As you have noted this hotel is not taking part in the offer like 90%+ of all European Marriotts.

I would suggest calling the hotel before your stay, to check whether they will take the cert. Have you got any confirmation from the Paltinum Desk on this in the form of an email this will help with the hotel.

Tell us how it works out?

ok...so here is the outcome.

contacted the hotel directly and surprise surprise they would not honour the free night as they do not participate in that offer. It was suggested that I give Platinum help desk a call back to see what they could do. After speaking to a supervisor he went off for a bit and then apologised profusely for the error in the information I was given (I think he must have gone off and listened to the audio's of the conversation) He then very kindly offered the second night including dinner and breakfast free of charge as Marriott would happily foot the bill due to their error.

Got to the hotel and they had upgraded me to their "Hanbury Suite" which is the best suite in the hotel. So in the end it all worked out perfectly and had a fantastic stay! Cannot recommend this hotel enough...they really look after their Plats!
