Marriott continues to be very good about honoring elite status benefits on even Priceline/Hotwire stays.
As a matter of practice, best to get the MR number added in well in advance of arrival, but even showing the card on arrival has worked generally very well -- more so in the US than overseas but well enough usually. This is if presuming the elite status member is listed on the reservation.
