I drove past it last week--it doesn't look like a place I want to stay. (but I could be wrong)

Details here. Near the intersection of I-81 & I-690. I couldn't imagine staying here either unless I had business downtown or an event up the SU hill. But I'm sure a big improvement from what is was.

I have business in town I am only staying one night, it has to be better than the CY or FI at carrier circle. I am just happy to have a FS Marriott.... since I have to visit Syracuse 3 times a year.

No more Syracuse Renaissance. Was looking to stay there in Oct, but didn't come up on a search.

i just stayed here the past 2 weeks. it's not bad of a hotel, probably your best option in syracuse, unless you are staying at the jefferson hotel, which is a small boutique hotel near armory square.
i also stayed at the courtyard in carrier circle. avoid that place if possible.

I've stayed here a few times in the past as well. No problems at all although the rooms are odd shaped. It just looks a little 1970s from the outside (and not in a good way architecturally).

Was originally a Holiday Inn. They seem to have the market cornered on the roundish hotels.
With no Renaissance, it looks like I'll be staying at the Springhill Suites at Carrier Circle. What was so bad about the Courtyard? I think I stayed there a couple years ago, but got in super late and left early. No real memory.

Stayed there 5 nights back in Jan. Found it to be a decent hotel, very good restaurant, decent lounge, which connected to the restaurant by a circular staircase. Overall a a very pleasant stay, except it being January in Syracuse. Sorry to hear they are dropping the Marriott name.
