Reset of qualifying nights?
I apologize if this answer is elsewhere on this thread - can't find it.
I was comped Platinum last year (and should have it through all of 2010) and ended the year with 48 nights. When does that number go back down to 0? Will I get to carry over 38 nights?
Just looking for some insight... thanks all.

MR resets everything to 0 within the first week or 2 of the new year.

As I understand the rollover nights promo, Marriott takes your status on Dec. 31, 2009 (platinum for the OP) and rolls over any nights above that status (75). Based on this you would not have any nights rollover to this year.

Your interpretation of the rollover isn't correct according to a MR rep that I spoke with a few days ago as I have the same problem. I lost my job last year and only earned 39 elite nights after being Platinum for several years, so I called to see where I'd land for 2010, although I knew. The rep looked at my account and told me that she could comp me to Platinum based on my past history but it was a one time deal and it obviously wouldn't do me any good if I wasn't going to use it. She suggested I wait until I've found new employment and gave me her extension to call back at that point and she would note our conversation and offer to comp to Platinum.
In the meantime, she told me that since I'd only earned Silver, I'd have 29 elite nights rollover. So, based on this info, it has nothing to do with your current level.

Glad someone posted about this. My United EQMs went to zero in a hurry, but my Marriott account is still showing 78 nights. I'm hoping it correctly resets to 3 (rollover), rather than 0.

Same here except I am still showing 111 nights. I bet it goes to 0 first and then rollover nights get posted as a separate computer sweep.
