IMO, they shouldn't just charge for it, but in such a case simply cancel your MR account. I know this happens, but it absolutely unacceptable.

Was about to say, wouldn't pay the fares right now. Recent experiences in more regular, working types hotels show a huge devaluation of service in the CL lounges. In one of the places I was staying in this week, I'd say breakfast selection was less than half of what it was early in the year. Honestly don't sweat it. And don't pay an extra fifty bucks for the privilege.

Now, in Europe, that's another matter ....

Still a pretty good offering to be had some places IMO out there from what I saw in Nov.
