Even if it was only the continental items, it's still a nice touch for an airport hotel to recognize that some people have 6 AM flights and to have something out for those who need to leave early to catch them. ^

Agree that OP needs to contact the hotel prior to his arrival - I don't think all FDC at FFI have keys to the fridges at the breakfast area.
When we are spending longer time in the US (we normally visit national parks so we stay at quite some of the limited service hotels) - my kids get fed up with the ultra sweet yogurts and cereals (they eat bran flakes but not raisins bran that offered in the hotels, they like cheerios but not the honey version or frosty loops), so we go to a grocery store to pick up some cereal and use the milk from FFI breakfast.
