I believe it shut down a year or two ago as they couldnt figure out what to do with it to make it busy! They used to let staff and guests mingle there and was a great way to get to know people and enjoy an evening but then a change in management stopped staff going mostly and pretty much destroyed what it used to be. It got rebranded a couple of times but nothing ever stuck!

I thought it was closed as well but guests were definitely there a couple days ago (via geo tagged Instagram stories).

I thought I read or heard somewhere that they can still operate it for special/private events.

Room recommendations?

Hello, everyone! My fiance and I have a trip upcoming in March for our honeymoon to the W Maldives. We have a reservation for the Wonderful Beach Oasis, but I sent an email requesting that we be upgraded for a night or two of our stay into an overwater room as well.

That being said, does anyone have any recommendations for which rooms to ask for (or to avoid)?

Also, would anyone recommend jumping on the early bird pricing for any of these activities?

Was there March 2019.
Can't comment on which OWV but for beach villa 115 to 120 is a good choice. More beach there, less beach for villa > 121+.

I just returned from a very nice stay in the W Maldives, great upgrade as Ambassador (soon Titanium).

Just one problem is the points credited, nothing for the restaurants/drinks. I asked my former Ambassador but I did not heard anything about it until now.

What is your experience ?

To add to the question above, does anyone know if a Marriott Gift Card can be used towards the flight fee ?
