Due to a flight delay on my inbound, very brief overnight stay (under 5 hours) before having to jet out early in the morning.
- Airport shuttle: Departs from bus shuttle center. Did Hilton pay for this? You basically sit there — in this case for almost 40 minutes — waiting for the shuttle at midnight, staring at the Hilton ORD wondering, “Shoot, I should have booked the Hilton.” Bus driver was very nice, loaded bags and also stopped at international terminal en route to hotel. Just remember: first bag in = last bag out = last in line to check in.
- No discernible upgrade but my room preference away from elevators on high floor was respected, offered points or breakfast. Since that opened at 6am and I had a 7am flight, I took the points.
- Hallway and room renovations were done well. Room was spacious and the bed was indeed Heavenly.
- Didn’t want to chance it on the bus so I took an Uber in to the airport, which took about 10 in decently heavy traffic.
- Terminal 2 Clear line was empty, so made it from hotel to the United Club from the Westin in <30 min in total
