Went last week. They try the BKK trick of trying to stop your taxi and tell you that they are closed. We had a driver we use and he says that the deal is they split whatever they can make out of you with the taxi driver. This is on the roads towards the Pyramids.
Then driving into them, men will literally jump on the car, bang on the windows etc. Our driver told us to scream loudly and it worked.
Once your inside the carpark area it settles down.
Frankly, I would take a hotel limo next time.
BTW, drove past the LM Pyramids on our way back to the Four Seasons FS. It looks like a 3 star Mecure from the outside. Not what I expected at all.

However, I thought it was cool to actually stay in the pyramids area and view them out the window, etc...
Is it better to stay at the FS in terms of views, location, etc?

You can't compare any of the *woods to either of the FS. The FS First Residence has views of the Pyramids, Nile and the Zoo depending on which category you book and is the best property in Egypt, on par with the FS San Stefano in Alex.

Actually ended up staying at the LM CAI twice. Was ok. Nothing too special. Club lounge was nice though. In terms of hassles, the staff did meet and greet right before immigration and assisted to hotel. That was very nice.

I stayed at LM Helipolis and LM Pyramids a few months back. Helipolis, while located pretty close to the airport, was pretty awful. Rooms were more "Sheraton after 20 years" than LM. The pool was also pretty depressing.
LM Pyramids on the other hand, felt very fresh, had a big-sized pool, views of the pyramids, well-appointed rooms, plat cocktail benefits and a fantastic CI agent.
If I return to Cairo I'll definitely pick the LM Pyramids.

Which is why I'm staying at the 2 Four Season properties for my December visit.
Kind of disappointing (the bad SPGs), as I was hoping to hit Gold w/ this trip.

Going on a FAM trip (travel agent speak: familiarization. The point is to not only see the sites, but do property tours of hotels, so when I go home to sell Egypt to my clients, I can tell them I've actually been to these places)
So, I'll have 2 nights at First Residence and 2 nights at Nile Plaza.

Answering someone's question is considered a sales pitch now....interesting indeed!
Answering it with a statement akin to "I'm new and don't know much about the industry" must be a real good pitch indeed! I'm sure my PM inbox is full with inquiries.

Any recent updates on the LM CAI, the LM Pyramids & the LM Heliopolis?
As an SPG Plat, do all three LM's have Club Lounges that provide complimentary breakfast in the morning and finger food in the evening? Any one Club Lounge better than the other two?
We are in CAI for 3 nights, I do not really have a preference which LM we stay at, I just enjoy the Club Lounges.

CAI and Heliopolis have lounges, Pyramids axed their lounge sometime last year but were offering complimentary drinks at the lobby bar.
For anything over 1 night, I'd stay in a more interesting location - that basically only leaves the one in Giza (Le Mridien Pyramids). You'll have a nice view, a nice pool and proximity to the pyramids.
The one at the airport will, due to its age, most certainly be fresher, however it's located next to one of the most depressing airports I've ever visited.

The LM Heliopolis is a hideous property. You will hate it. If you are considering staying here you may as well stay at the LM CAI which is the best of all SPG properties until/if the St Regis gets built.
The LM Pyramids is very inconvenient due to location (other than the obvious). You will spend hours in traffic to visit the main attractions.
