I may be wrong on this regarding the Marriott LAX/Renaissance shuttle, but I thought that the order from LAX it goes Marriott LAX first, Renaissance 2nd; LAX third and the cycle repeats

I'm on AA119 now headed back to LAX and will try the Renaissance shuttle again. Will let you know what order we go. Friday night was a lot faster by doing Renaissance.

Yeah, whenever I hitch a ride with the Marriott/Renaissance shuttle it usually is the former that's the first stop. Usually catch this one when I have a case of the munchies that needs a quick remedy as I can just get off at the Renaissance, walk across the street to Burger King and grab a quick bite, cross back and check into the 4P. ^

I always managed to score a West Tower room when I was Gold, but then again this was 5 years ago and way before renovations made the gulf between East and West even wider.

By any chance would your hotel get Fox Soccer Channel? For a soccer buff that would be amazing. At least I could stay at the hotel and not look for a nearby pub to watch a match.
It would be fitting for this property to have it as they seem to have been doing some MLS-related promos!

Never got intersted in MLS, Just want that channel to watch EPL in the morning. Too difficult to get up really early sometimes.

OK, took the shuttle to the Renaissance last night. Maybe they've changed the shuttle routes since your last stay, but the route is indeed LAX to Renaissance to Crowne Plaza. Marriott LAX is a separate shuttle entirely. The Renaissance shuttle works out as a timesaver since it goes right to the Renaissance without a stop. Was also useful for me because I also went right into Burger King and grabbed a bite to eat before walking over to the Four Points.

As an aside, I was very pleased with the Four Points and would not hesitate to return here on a future MR. It was incredible value for money, convenient and I appreciated the free bottled water. Also liked having that Burger King across the street for some quick food.

I have a reservation at the 4pts in a few weeks. I chose it specifically because of the 24 hour stay feature since I'll be arriving after a redeye and I notified them immediately after making the reservation that I would want to check in at 6am.

I only just noticed the restriction that their 24hr checkin only applies to rates greater than 119. Is this a new restriction? More importantly, how are award stays reflected in this? Are they eligible?

I'm sure that Phil will be along soon to answer your questions, so I'll leave it to him to do that, but it does seem they've lowered the eligible rates since 2009.

The 24 Hour Check-In/Check-Out (24/24) program is set up for rates above $119, however we're flexible with SPG members (especially Gold & Platinum) and folks booking through negotiated corporate rates. Can you do me a favor and PM me and I'll make sure you are set up and we have a room ready for you?

The main restriction that is hard and fast is no 24/24 for people booking through OTAs.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Thanks William! I was knocked off the grid by the flu. Back to (almost) full strength.

Unfortunately we don't have the MLS channel. Your post triggered a complete relook at our Brewster's DirectTV package. We're looking at some options and associated costs. Honestly the Soccer channel adds $50 a month...not that much so in all likelihood we'll get everything bundled up and go with it. Might be a month or so before it is in place.

Best,

Phil

In this venue we tend to talk policy, but if you contact me though PM or email I'm happy to take care of any reasonable request. I don't want to offer it wholesale to people booking reward stays but I'm happy to make exceptions for my new FT buddies.

Wow, I'm speechless. Is it possible to have a clone of you in every hotel property in the world?

That they did! I completely forgot that the shuttle service reshuffled their routes a few months ago! The Four Points shuttle is now shared with the Westin which is farther down Century Blvd. than the Hilton (which the 4P used to share the same route with) which indeed translates to a longer ride. Works great for the Westin as they have one less property to share the shuttle with (their route also included the Holiday Inn and La Quinta which now has their own route) but not so great for those of us that want to head to the Four Points.

thanks for the heads up since I'll be at the 4Pts this week (Ironically a switch from the Westin ) and will probably grab the 1st Avail (Budget, Renaissance or ES North)
