Didn't the destination fee inlcude some very useful benefits like $50/day food credit?
If they aren't charging the destination fee, then I assume they aren't giving out the benefits either.

Does anyone have a recent list of what's included in the fee? The booking I just made shows the destination fee.

Staying at the St. Regis New York, as we speak. I'm Titanium. Shaping up to pretty crappy -- EXPENSIVE -- stay.

Told at check-in, no breakfast for elites due to renovations (not aware of this before I arrived). This makes no sense. Breakfast is still being served on the 20th floor and through room service. I also proactively asked for a suite upgrade at check-in. Denied. Even though, as I type this, Astor suites are still available for reservation tonight on Marriott's website (Astor - Butler Service, 1 Bedroom Suite, 1 King Room Member Rate 1,956 USD / Night). However, prior to check-in, I was assigned a "two-level upgrade" to what is an OK king room, but with a terrible, internal outlook.

I chatted with a representative through the Bonvoy app. No help. Also blamed lack of Elite breakfast on renovations. I stated that I think this is a violation of the Bonvoy terms of service to deny breakfast. Representative said that giving me 1,000 points was sufficient in lieu of breakfast. Wow.

This is crap. This stay sucks. I love some St. Regis hotels (e.g., Aspen and Bangkok). Sadly, cannot recommend St. Regis New York.

That would be a generous upgrade - StR Suite is the normal upgrade suite. Still, they could be more generous with the upgrades to make up for the no breakfast nonsense.

Personally, I'd camp at the front desk and refuse to leave until they caved on breakfast or gave me the $100 comp. But I appreciate not everyone is willing to do that.

I suggest you invoke the Marriott benefit choice guarantee, via email, while you are still with the property. If you have it in writing, before you left, then you might have recourse with Marriott. Others upthread have gotten credit at the hotel when invoking it (but not sure of all).

I am a platinum member currently at St Regis NY. I booked two rooms for 3 nights (so 6 total nights), 5 out of 6 total nights are booked through travel agency when Miles-and-more had that 30x miles promo. Only 1 out of 6 total nights is booked direct, which I used FNC. All rooms are booked as basic superior room. The upgraded one room to next-level-up Deluxe room, and they upgraded the other room to Deluxe Suite (which is one-level-up from Astor Suite). I was gonna ask for the $100 compensation due to no breakfast for the 1 night booked direct using FNC, but since they gave me a nice upgrade without me even asking (Deluxe Suite is 2 ~ 3 times the costs of the basic Superior room), I feel bad asking for the $100 compensation which seems miniscule compared to the upgrade they gave me. So I think I'll just let this one slide.

How exactly are you able to use the destination fee food and beverage credit if there's no restaurant?

There is a restaurant. There's just not a restaurant. Simple!

Ironically the NYC one is the original, flagship property of the entire St. Regis brand. John Jacob Astor IV would be rolling in his grave if he saw the state of customer service today

Stayed here a couple days ago.
They did a great job communicating no benefits (plat)
Butler service very slow compared to normal, didnt stay on a busy day or anything.
No upgrade offered which was expected, doormen were just chatting rather than interacting with me carrying my bags, the music in the room was pumped in on a clearly broken speaker, and the bath plug wasn't attached to my bath at all when I arrived.
Other than that, fantastic room as usual, but def lit points on fire when I should have stayed at the JW/ Ritz Carlton. Add another vote to stay elsewhere until August.

Ugh, trying to decide where to stay May 31 --> June 1. St. Regis seems bad right now, but might improve in the coming 2 months? But then again, SNAs tend to clear and no other great optios.

Does anyone know who if the SNAs work for any of the 2 Ritz and to which level?

SNAs clear yes, but not to a suite, just to the “deluxe room” that there is a decent chance you’d be upgraded to as an elite anyway.

I'm voting with my feet and trying the Ritz NoMad for a 2 night (paid) stay in May. NUA options included proper one bedroom suites. I may change my mind if the NUAs don't clear but I don't really need to stay in midtown so I'm definitely not going to the St.R until it's fixed. (Sadly my corp rate at the Chatwal has doubled, so it's no longer a viable option.)
