SFO Airport - Westin or Sheraton Gateway?
Short business trip coming up to SFO. Neither of these places gets glowing reviews on tripadvisor.com. Based on your experience, which one is better?

We've done them both. Sheraton is it. Not as much runway noise, has access to walking trail, covered parking, HAS A LOUNGE, close to Kincaid's, good staff and Sheraton Service Promise. Westin seems to always price out more than Westin. IMHO

I will be flying UA from SFO at 6 AM.
Which one is better to stay overnight and fast/reliable shuttle to the terminal (around 4 AM) ?

Westin. It shares a shuttle with the nearby Clarion hotel. I was there two weeks ago, and noticed that there was two shuttles. From the hotel, they first stop at the domestic gates, and then the international terminal. You'll be on the 2nd domestic stop.

We liked the Westin.....had an early flight and we left at 3 am. The shuttle ran soothly, it had us and about 3 flight crews on it at that time of morning. I usually assume that if the airlines use the property it must be capable of getting you to and from the airport pretty easily.

Westin is nicer. Shuttle access is slightly closer.
But if you are SPG-Plat, you may expect club level floor and lounge at Sheraton. Sheraton has better bay view, half the chance at Westin.
