I agree that the IC is much better. Way nicer Club, always a suite upgrade as RA and you've got night golf!

Well, I stayed one night at this hotel about a week and half ago and... I will stay there again. As a Lifetime Gold I got upgraded to a Tower room, which definitely appeared renovated and up to modern standards. A late checkout was offered on request. The lounge was fine. The breakfast was fine. Perhaps I will be less bullish once/if I end up in one of the "standard" rooms, but for now this hotel will be my "go-to" in Riyadh. It definitely beats Marriott, IMHO.

Any updates?

Also wondering about the status of this property's restaurants/lounges/room service during Ramadan?

Thanks.

The Sheraton Riyadh is an older hotel - here are my impressions and photos:

Pros:
  • Upgraded to a Junior Suite (the only higher thing available online was a Two Bedroom Villa, which I wouldnt expect an upgrade to)
  • Bed was comfortable - medium mattress, plush covers for climate, plush pillows
  • Shower pressure was fine and temperature control was stable
  • Large desk
  • No issue with late checkout
  • Walkable to STC metro station

Neutral:
  • Lounge was 6th floor elevator lobby - chocolate pudding was decent - but offering was not as extensive as Marriott
  • Only option was restaurant breakfast (they told me this was included) - food was okay, but nothing was great - machine coffee was fine

Cons:
  • Several Ministry of Tourism - Notice to Evacuate signs (but unclear why and when) - made me nervous - kind of ominous - property seemed to have a quiet vibe
