Bonus Points Never Automatically Credited

I have been purchasing hotel rooms with "2K bonus points" or "3K bonus points" rate, which is more expensive than the regular rate for the same categories of rooms. However, the bonus points were never automatically added to my account. Each time, I had to go through the "Missing Points Request" process to have them manually added retrospectively.

It's so frustrating to have to monitor, claim, follow-up to get the points that I've paid for every, single, time. Anyone experienced the same?

Yes, chasing after these is highly annoying. Sometimes, properties will credit them 30+ days later and some will credit before the stay even starts. Its up to the property on when they send in the eBonus. Its not Marriott causing the delays.

I complained about this in another thread.

Interestingly, I finally got one automatically credited yesterday (with an email confirmation note), after streaks of dozens requiring manual intervention. Yes, property dependent.

Unless there is a difference of a few dollars, I don't bother with these room rates. 2K points is worth no more than $10-$12. Not worth the effort, especially most of the time those rates cost more + incremental tax.

the promo points are normally posted by the property but if they don't have a good tracking system, they generally are forgotten until a case is opened

just dont stay in Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Mahwah ,
i got 10+ nights with them in 2023-2024 , each night 1000 bonus , and never got it after re-re-re-claim.
and decide to stay there again and talk to someone , finally someone came out and told me that he is the one who take care of everything , and tell me that the bonus points is from Marriott , not from hotel , so he is not going to give me anything . this is the only hotel i cant get the bonus points.

most of the other hotel need to ask for it , they dont do it auto. around 15% hotel did do it auto , but they still sometime forget and i need to talk to them.

It seems Courtyard by Marriott generally deposits the points fairly promptly after each case is opened.

Fairfield Inn is the worst. The last one I stayed at has completely ignored my request after two follow-ups.
