Generally I find the hotel acceptable. This is a stub review until to,or row.

Check In

Check in was speedy and professional. They. Need to scan your passport so you cannot fully check in in the app. Mobile keys are supported.

I was not directly recognized as a titanium but was given a suite with a partial sea view.

Check out through the app did not work as expected. As I was leaving the hotel, the attendant started chasing me insisting that I come to the desk to pay with my card. I expect this was a failed process

There are signs in and out side the hotel pointing towards an executive lounge. However, based upon my discussion with the front desk, there is no executive loung available. I even went looking to where a lounge might have been, but did not find any space that I thought looked like it could have been a lounge.

Location

I would say the location is near other tourist hotels. It looks like the area suffered under Covid and many things are shuttered. While I was on a walk I saw the Mövenpick which looked liked a nice alternative.

Since many tourists will end up in Sousse by train, please note that the trains cost 8.10 TBD and do not run very punctually. You are also not guaranteed a seat. The trains run 4-5 times per day in each direction. They should have 2-3 different service classes available, but my experience was that they are not available even if advertised and you could sit wherever with the 8.10 ticket. They do sell as many tickets as they can, which means you might not get a sear.

Dining

The main restaurant where breakfast is also served  IMG_7879.jpeg

There is an Asian restaurant on the first floor. It also has a bar. I found this bar nicer than the main Grand Room bar. The food was okay. The staff was friendly. I did not find the menu overly Asian.

About the breakfast. My experience this morning was that breakfast at 06:10 was not fully set up.  When I left at 06:40 the omelette station was still not manned. It seems that breakfast effectively starts at 07:00.

There was a good selection of local sweets and dishes to try. I did not care for the coffee from the machine. I took some additional, pictures to give you a taste for what's on offer:

Room

The room had plenty of outlets. The wifi only worked in areas close to the door.

The room had two televisions.. Strangely neither tv had any stations tuned in. I assume this was just a temporary glitch, but perhaps it is a constant problem.IMG_7864.jpeg

I found the little bed curious.

Pool

There was table service available on the terrace before the pool. However at this time of the year only smokers were using this option.

At first I thought the thread title was:

Scouse Pearl Marriott Resort

and I thought there was a new resort hotel in Liverpool.

It’s actually supposed to be Sousse, not Souse as it’s spelled in the title. I think this property was not originally built as a Marriott.

I have heard from a friend that frequents Tunisia that the Hilton Skanes has better F&B than this Marriott.
