I just stayed at a Fairfield Inn that still has their hot tub shot down "due to COVID-19." Apparently, COVID-19 doesn't spread in the pool area, or in the pool. Only in the hot tub, which happens to cost money to heat and treat.
The best part is that if I wanted to wash my hands using some body wash to avoid COVID-19, that would have been impossible, because the communal body wash and conditioner dispensers in my room's shower were empty. And the current tiny Fairfield bar soap matches up with the price point. (No more Paul Mitchell bar.)
I wish these hotels would be honest and say that their cost-cutting efforts refer to the goal of stuffing the owner's pockets with additional green, not being green or healthy. It's too bad, because the hotel was nice, otherwise.

I'm surprised a Fairfield in the US still had one. I thought most lower-end and mid-tier properties decided to get rid of them rather than installing lifts required by the ADA.
