Very interesting development. I was bummed about losing the Hyatt relationship but this could be just as good, maybe even better depending on the level of integration between the two programs especially as this article seems to indicate.

This is great news. Not expecting much in terms of elite benefits, but it'll be great to rack up elite nights.
From the press release, these will be the participating properties:Of the 17 MGM resorts that will join MGM Collection with Marriott Bonvoy, four properties will also be affiliated with existing Marriott collection brands: Bellagio Resort & Casino will join The Luxury Collection, ARIA Resort & Casino will join Autograph Collection, Park MGM will become part of Tribute Portfolio, and The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas will continue its affiliation with Autograph Collection.
Eight MGM resorts in Las Vegas will join MGM Collection with Marriott Bonvoy: Vdara Hotel & Spa, MGM Grand Hotel & Casino, NoMad Las Vegas, The Signature at MGM Grand, Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, New York-New York Hotel & Casino, Luxor Hotel and Casino, and Excalibur Hotel & Casino.
Five MGM Resorts in other U.S. locations will also join MGM Collection with Marriott Bonvoy: Borgata (Atlantic City, New Jersey), Beau Rivage (Biloxi, Mississippi), MGM Grand Detroit (Michigan), MGM National Harbor (Maryland), and MGM Springfield (Massachusetts).

No matter, this is good news. I have been a Caesars supporter for many years and used to frequent LV at least 3 times/year. After Covid etc., the Caesar properties have drastically cut costs everywhere, became dirty with absolutely NO service - I just cancelled my stay with them as was not impressed and moved somewhere else. This is in September so a little too soon to take advantage of this. MGM seems to have slightly better control on their properties and have a few more higher end on the strip.
Not knowing too much information yet but other than getting some stays / points in I highly doubt there will be too much in regards to benefits. They can barely provide them at their own hotels? Not sure how to decipher the statement bolded above - MGM members staying at Marriott properties receive benefits but not reciprocal at MGM properties for Bonvoy members?

The MGM Hyatt partnership provided elite status matches up to MGM's gold tier. The primary benefit there is waived resort and parking fees. But the FAQ just says "select benefits" so I assume status matches are not part of it.
Waived resort fees is the only hard benefit MGM could provide though. MGM rewards elite members are technically eligible for upgrades, but I've never received one in dozens of stays, even at the "platinum" level.

Interesting to note that as a select few properties will be joining Luxury Collection, Autograph Collection or Tribute Portfolio, some form of breakfast/breakfast credit should be offered to Plats+ unless they manage to get themselves on the exempt list.

Best guesses:
- No or reduced elite nights for stays at "MGM Collection" properties
- No status matching, at least in the way Hyatt did
- Breakfast, 1 category upgrades, and late checkout at Bellagio, Aria, Park MGM, Cosmopolitan per MGM elite tiers
- Points earnings and redeeming across all of the MGM properties

Cosmopolitan is already on the exempt list. I’d say it’s very likely these will be joining that list. Or at best, some credit being provided.
