Wedding at RC - points

Getting married at the RC Rancho Mirage next year. Part of the contract is that you will earn Bonvoy points but it doesnt state how.

Does anyone know how this calculation works? We have the event itself, obviously, then a large room block.

you can earn points for up to 3 rooms if you pay for them or you can put the room/tax on the master and get 1 point for every $3 spent. you can also earn points on f and b spend if you host the reception on site. they could also offer points as an incentive to host the event on site. I'd suggest speaking to the sales manager to discuss in depth. id pay with a marriott co branded cc to max out on the point earnings.

One can also earn points for events/meetings planned at a hotel, including for rooms booked and paid for by attendees under the events block of rooms. There is however a cap on the amount of points that can be earned per event.

Make sure your bonvoy nunber is on the contract. You also earn 1 elite credit night for every 10 room nights booked using your meeting code. So if 10 rooms were booked for 4 nights. You would earn 4 nights. The max is 10 credit nights. Points are slow to post 2-3 months not 2-3 days so be prepared

Put all points earning provisions in the contract. Some hotels will also sweeten the deal with bonus points.
