Sina Bernini Bristol, Autograph Collection, Rome, Italy [Master Thread]
According to Marriott.com, a “new hotel” is opening in Rome in July 2022. Here’s the hotel’s official website:
https://www.marriott.com/hotels/trav...ph-collection/
The official website of Sina Hotels has more information:

It’s not really a new hotel. It’s just a new addition to Marriott’s Autograph Collection. In fact, the hotel has a long and illustrious history, according to the Sina Hotels website:
The Sina Bernini Bristol opened in 1874 in an ancient palace in the heart of the city, named in honour of the first Baronet of Bristol, the eighteenth-century Protestant bishop.
Historic hotel in Rome, it was chosen by famous personalities such as the Emperor of Brazil, the Zar of Russia, the Princes of Wales, the Rockefellers and the Vanderbildt where they would spend the cold winter months in the Eternal City.
Between 1939 and 1942 the hotel was completely rebuilt on its foundations, adding to its name the one of the famous artist Gian Lorenzo Bernini the author of beautiful 17th century Triton Fountain.
This gives us a new Marriott Bonvoy option in Rome. So far, it’s not possible to make reservations with cash or points through Marriott.com. It will be interesting to see how it compares to other 5-star hotels in Central Rome.

Very interested to see this!!! We've stayed at the Bernini Bristol 3 times over the years and enjoyed the hotel. The roof top restaurant/lounge has wonderful views.

Any more recent stay with anyone at this property? I have a booking for later this month and wondered if anyone had any experience of how they treat Elite guests? I have Ambassador status and just thought I would try a new property for a change.

very italian with a "new wing" and older front
Titanium recognition of 1000 points plus breakfast or another 1000 points
upgraded automatic to room with balcony facing "quietish" alley in back
one english channel on tv
firm firm firm beds
property more geared to italians
english speaking depends on staff member
but a great location meters away from Metro station
will post more as stay continues
btw just came off 2 nights St Regis Rome
which is the best place i have ever stayed

followup pictures
the chain is still newbies to all the marriott protocols
they try their best but they are struggling
wifi was all over place and not good for business travel
breakfast was just ok but as a titanium they wanted 17 Euro for a omelet
if St regis breakfast is a 10
and a Fairfield inn in USA is a 1
the breakfast here is a 5

Lost luggage
Can anyone confirm the name of the general manager of the Sina Bernini Bristol?
We arrived to the hotel at 10 AM, knowing that our room would likely not be ready. It was not so we checked our bags with the bell man. We then had two tours and a dinner which got us back to the hotel around 10 PM.
When we checked in, we were told they placed our luggage in the room. To our dismay, we arrived to the room, and there was no luggage. After an hour and a half of back-and-forth with the front desk clerk, the night clerk, and the concierge and a couple of other staff, they could not find our luggage. They said they were searching empty rooms to see if our bags were placed elsewhere We ultimately had to go to bed that night with no luggage, fearing that our luggage is permanently lost , and we had none of our belongings for the night. After calling them in the morning, worried that we would have to cancel a tour and deal with lost luggage. They said they had found it.
We are obviously grateful to have our luggage again however we had a fitful night of sleep as well as not having key essentials. We would like to send a note to the general manager asking them , if they will compensate us in someway. It is a Sunday and we have to catch a flight early in the morning so we figure we will likely not be able to speak to the GM in person.
