Hotel opened in February 2021, I stayed August 2021. Booked this hotel same day at $169 for a getaway from Portland area for a few days mid-week. Upon booking, chatted and received confirmation of an upgrade to a 1 BR suite with a kitchen. Getting to the hotel from the North is a bit odd. Google Maps takes you through a State Office building parking lot, which is odd, but makes sense once you do it as it avoids 2 lights on Wall St. At check in was thanked for being ambassador, offered $10 market credit or points, took the points, and was confirmed for a 4PM checkout the following day. I was in a room on the second floor, a 1 BR suite with kitchen. It was clssic Element, room was clean, bed comfy, and oddly, there was individual toiletries from Pharmacopia. Aircon kept the room at a beautiful 65 degrees, windows in my room did not open, and the blinds weren't the best at keeping morning light out while facing east.

The hotel has (what I think may be a new brand standard?) happy hour receiption Monday - Thursday 5-630. Offerings were 2 local beers, a red and white wine, packaged snack mix, coffee, tea, and a few softdrinks. The gentleman working the table was incredibly friendly, and thanked me for being ambassador after I had said I never saw this in my dozens of Element stays as one. The wine was passable, but by no means fantastic. It was enjoyable to sip on some wine in the beautiful weather in their courtyard with many seating options.

Bend is a odd hotel market. There's really only 2 proper full-service/upscale hotels in the city (both non-chain). But if you look at the Marriott offerings (specifically SHS, and Fairfield [which is right next to the Element]) they each offer a premium from the normal brand standard. The SHS rooms are VERY nicely appointed with dark woods, and higher-end furnishings, same for the Fairfield. The location of the Element can't be beat if you're hanging out downtown. It's a 10 minute walk down Wall Street to get to dozens of restaurants and bars, the river, and multiple other attractions.

I Had dinner at the always great "Blacksmith" - 10 min walk, and enjoyed cocktails at a few other places. Upon returning, I asked for a pet bed to be delivered as I had my pet with me, which they promptly did, my little man loved it (and now have one on order for home). While I had only originally scheduled to stay one night, I was reallying enjoying the getaway. I pulled up the app in the morning, and sadly saw the property was sold out. I called down to the front desk and asked if I could extend another day. The agent called me back in a few minutes and confirmed I could extend, and even stay in the same suite, great hospitality! The only downside that I could find to the property is that there is a little road noise, being right next to US 97. It wasn't much that it bothered me (the opposite in fact), but for those who it might, ask for a room facing away from the highway.

Overall I can't recommend this property enough. It checks all of my boxes from location, upscale, elite recognition, going the extra mile, and good rates.

Second the Element for the area. It's my favorite Bonvoy property there. Fairfield was good prior to the renovation, but I find the new beds to be uncomfortable and do not like the plank against the wall that replaced the midroom desk table. The SHS looks nice, but feels like they're trying to nickel and dime.

Good job on the price! Our corporate TA is usually another $100 or more on top of that in summer months for Bend (except for last year), which turns most visits into (long) day trips.

As a first time Element user, not only was I surprised that they had a free breakfast, but that it also offered a dish made to order.

Just had our first stay ever in Bend, and our first stay ever at an Element. Loved the Element, all the positives above are true. We just had a studio (only 30K pts for what would have been almost a $400 room - why? Bend prices can be crazy). Room is just really efficient and well laid out. Our blinds made the room PITCH black. Everyone at the FD was really nice, especially Eric who not only answered our pre-arrival questions, but checked us in AND acted as the bartender. Husband found out he was with the hotel 6 months before it opened, so had a lot to do with its construction and opening.

However, and this is not the hotel's fault, but we were there yesterday when Bend (and most of the country) was over 100 degrees. So no walking around to enjoy Bend, and driving around was a nightmare (on a Tuesday).

I will also say one negative is that, while that French Toast looks great, our hot item was a sweet potato hash which I found abysmal. I love sweet potatoes, all vegetables, and also hash, but this just wasn't cohesive. Potatoes were undercooked (not carmelized like sweet potatoes can be), corn, chicken sausage, I think kale all tossed together with an egg on top.

But I would definitely seek out an Element in other places now.

Any recent stays/reviews for this hotel? Id also appreciate which rooms/locations in the hotel are quietest re road noise, etc.

Thanks for any help.

I was the last poster and all I can say it's in a very quiet part of town, I don't recall which way we faced but we didn't have any street noise.

However, I looked over on Tripadvisor, filtered by "noise", and exactly ONE poster said they had noise from people in the courtyard until late, so you might request not to face the courtyard.
