Marriott Testing New Website Design
Apologies for starting a new thread as I couldn't find the post I saw a couple of weeks back about a new website design being tested, but I can confirm that a new design is definitely being tested to bring the website more in line with the new design vision seen in the iOS mobile app. As you can see, the layout is much more image-focused. For me, this design only appears for a couple of properties, but it seems to be property-based, rather than session-based, as the design appears for these few properties even after clearing cookies.
Any thoughts on this new design?

Not only that but isnt it great when you see pictures of rooms along with the disclaimer - may not be representative of the actual room you get. Whats the use of the picture then?
To me, it is about truth of advertising. Not what comes to mind when I think of Marriott & the Bonvoy program.
I would much rather see what Im buying, what the program stands behind, whats their commitment to individual customers (individuals versus properties as their customer), etc.

Marriott is rolling its property sites over to the new format, and I have to say… it’s a total mess and I absolutely hate it. Pictures appear in different sizes and are often low-resolution, room descriptions are cut-off and trail off into suspension points, and I find the new design visually unappealing. It looks like a site designed for mobile screens, but stretched out onto a big screen.
What a mess. To think that entire teams of people put this together as an “improvement” is appalling.

“What to Expect” has also disappeared from Marriott.com -- at least from the hotels I checked today.
“What to Expect” is still on the Marriott Bonvoy mobile app.
Although many hotels are not keeping their “What to Expect” information up-to-date, it's still useful, especially the “Food & Beverage Offers” and “Marriott Bonvoy” buttons. Of course, it would be more useful if it were more reliable.

The new design is an absolute joke, toatally unusable!

At least for me, it is impossible to see the room details, the text is cutted in the middle of a sentence and there is no link to click to see the whole information.

The new web site is an absolute mess. Try to click on anything on top and get sent back to the same place. Cannot read any reviews (done on purpose?), most hotel info also not available. A small number of pretty pictures, but not much else. Bring back the original format which was easy to use and gave useful information. Change for the sake of change or to justify your existence is ridiculous. Those IT clowns brought over when Ringling Bros circus closed should have been fired long ago!!!

The really useful directions to/from specific hotels with accompanying map appear to be gone as well. I used this to calculate distances between hotels on driving trips. I know everyone else flies and realize you can do all this with Google Maps, but that's several extra steps that weren't previously necessary.
