Yes the form of payment doesn't impede the eligibility for the bonus. It just needs to be a paid stay (no awards/points).

The FAQ does say that the mixed award + paid stays do qualify.

For a cash 3 night for the price of 2 booking I assume that the double EQNs and Points would apply to all 3 nights and not just the 2 paid nights?

The safe money is just the cash portion, Marriott has never run a promo where awards count for the promo. Marriott's IT means you might get bonus nights but it's going to be very much a YMMV situation.

Do bonus nights under this promotion count towards life time nights?

Hmm, this is sort of inconsistent with what others are saying, as well as the stated terms involving rewards nights counting if there's a paid night. My understanding is that a reservation with:
(a) one reward or paid night would earn one elite night
(b) two reward nights would earn two elite nights
(c) two paid nights would earn four elite nights
(d) one paid plus one reward night would earn four nights (or maybe three nights?)

If (d) only earns three nights, there really isn't any additional incentive to use points unless you need the free night to make your one paid night reservation a two night mixed one in order to get the first night to count twice. I have a reservation in which I used points on the third night so I could check out at 7PM and get the double elite nights for that. It's probably not worth it if the free night counts as one.

I don’t think (a) and (b) are correct. Stand alone reward nights will not earn bonus elite nights. Only a reservation that has paid AND reward nights under the same reservation number will get the bonus for all nights. I’d be happy to be proven wrong on (a) and (b).

So would 24 reward nights + 1 revenue night all in one reservation equate to 25 BONUS Elite nights?

Marriott Lurkers, can you clarify bonus elite nights one will receive based on above? Please also confirm if the 25 BONUS Elite nights accrued based on above scenario will count towards lifetime status.

Sorry, my post wasn't as clear as it could have been. I meant that, in scenarios (a) and (b) whether there is either a single paid night or any number of free nights without a paid night, you would earn what you normally earn without the promotion.

Promotion starting soon...w/double points/etc.

The promotion is stating cash night required, the certs will count. While details are not known, lets say you want a 3 night stay can you pay for night one, use cert for night 2, then points for night 3 and then that will provide 6 credits under the promotion? - shorter way of asking would be asking if nights booked w/points would count for credit?

On a related note, can one book TWO different reservations under the same account for the same dates?
Book room #1 for 3 nights paying cash, one cert and points....then book room #2 for same nights paying cash, one cert and points?
(there is a reason for the question here, as booking a room for 6 nights using cash night 1, 2 certs and points (while an option) may not be advantageous as two separate bookings. If something went wrong where you need to contact support for credit, wouldn't want someone looking back at the reservations and saying what happened would not count... regardless if they were booked at the same hotel, or reservation #1 at hotel A, and reservation #2 at hotel B.
