I also wanted to step up from Cat 4 to Cat 7 or 8 and pay extra points but it's a no go. Is it a system issue or some other reason? The way I see is I'm ultimately giving back points in addition to FN certificate and I earned both.

So if you qualify this year, you will receive them this year — or no later than Friday, 8 January 2021 if you procrastinate.
To get a 2021 Annual Choice Gift, you must hit 50 nights again, including promo nights (if any) and credit card nights.
