It is expected with this price point, but the outdoor space of the water villas looks small and the lounge chairs don't look that comfortable.
Nevertheless, very enticing at 35K points per night.
Aren’t those just artists’ renditions instead of actual pics?

Well, I assumed it's actually going to look like the rendering.

I was actually wondering, for those of us who have previously been to much higher end resorts such as STR, WA, W, Park Hyatt, or even Conrad, etc, how would the experience at the Le Meridien compare? Especially with the villas at STR and WA being like twice the size and having 5 star service.

I know this resort hasn't opened yet and it seems to be an amazing value, so I'm wondering about this and will probably have to wait and see first hand reports.

Wow, went from seeing points avail from every date from 09/01 to 01/07 for both beach bungalow or sunrise OVW to absolutely no avail. Hope those on FT were able to lock in some dates before the blogger blitz.

Does anyone know if points advance takes away from inventory?

It should, yes, it guarantees the room it just doesn't guarantee the point rate.

I’m seeing lots. Just some dates in Dec/Jan are no longer available. Must have been an IT glitch.

Yea, it's all speculation now. We won't even know if the property will open exactly in September, given how resorts tend to delay their opening timeline. (Cue - see the Ritz)

But I'm definitely expecting a different product from the luxury portfolios - StR, W, Ritz, maybe even JW. It will probably be on par with the Westin and Sheraton.
On and all, it is still really exciting for us to enjoy a Maldivian holiday for such value.

Folks are definitely snatching up for the peak season travel dates in Dec and some Nov. Availability in Oct is still wide open..
I'm afraid we'll continue to see availability shrink.. and hopefully the property/system will open up reservations for Feb 2022 onwards..

All the major travel bloggers credit card pushers have published posts in the last 72 hours exclaiming how good a deal this property is and explaining how to utilize points and certs for cheap[er] getaways here. I'm not planning to go but was just looking around at different points windows, and within minutes different availabilities would disappear - some even while I'm on the website.

Part of my brain: "great, nothing is sacred."

The cash rate in mid Dec ($440) is the lowest among Marriotts in Maldives, lower than even Sheraton. Hopefully generous intro rate and not reflective of the relative quality.

Thank goodness. I thought I was seeing a repeat of the WA Maldives and IC Bora Bora. Marriott has done a reasonable job of managing award availability in the Maldives/Bora Bora vs. their counterparts. Hope it stays that way. Think even the Radisson Maldives had similar issues despite the smaller loyalty program.

I'm having troubles with my account too. No matter what I try (different browsers, clearing cookies etc), i can't find any availabilities most of the time.
The trick is to search availabilities while in incognito, and when you found a stay, hit the book button, then login.
