'Double Take' promo : double points, from the second stay onwards, March 19 and June 4, 2019


Earn Even More. Marriott Bonvoy U.S. Card Members earn an exclusive bonus of 500 additional points for weekend stays** — starting with the first stay.

**A "weekend stay" is defined as a stay that includes a Friday or Saturday night regardless of where the hotel is located.

Registration for the Double Take global promotion begins on 5 March, 2019.

T&C:

Registration of your Marriott Bonvoy account is required. Marriott Bonvoy™ members who register for this promotion by May 21, 2019 will earn double points per stay, starting with their second stay during the promotion earning period. The double points earning is only applicable to members’ base points earned per stay. The promotion earning period is for stays between March 19, 2019 and June 4, 2019, at participating Marriott Bonvoy™ properties. A 'stay' is defined as consecutive nights spent at the same hotel, regardless of check-in/check-out activity. Rooms booked through most third party online retailers and select travel agency bookings are ineligible to earn for this promotion. The member receiving this offer has been targeted and the offer is not transferable. ExecuStay, Marriott Executive Apartments and Marriott Vacation Club® owner-occupied weeks are not eligible for bonus points and nights spent while redeeming an award are not eligible for bonus points. Only one room per hotel is counted toward a member’s nights or stay. Members electing to earn miles are not eligible for this promotion. FAQs

Q : Does a 1-night stay count as the first stay ?
A : Yes, this would count as the first stay as long as the one night falls within the promotion period.

Q : Does an award stay count as the first stay ?
A : No, full award stays do not count towards this offer as a first stay.

Q : Does a stay that straddles the start / end date of the promotion period count ?
A : If you check-in before March 19 but check-out after, that stay will count as a Double Take stay. Likewise, if you check-in before June 4, that stay will count as a Double Take stay, even if you check out after.

Q : Which points are doubled ?
A : Double points are only applicable to the base points you’ll earn on a stay.

Q: If a member is enrolled in both Double Take and "Exclusively For You: Double Points" promotion, will they earn for both promotions?
A: Yes, if the Stay meets the qualifications for both promotions, the member will get quadruple points.

I got the same message last night when I finally registered the Extra Elight Nights promo (due to the duration is only for 2 months so I need to wait till Mar to register).

I called and the rep told me I was already registered just now, Basically it would display the error message even when you just wanted to read the Details of the promo - by clicking the See the Details bobble, you got the error message that you are not eligible for the promo thing...

True to form of the BonVoy IT!

Log-in and out didn't help either.
My wife's account has the same issue. If you log out and go to the registration link, it works fine; but not when you're logged in. It's like the promo doesn't exist. I've reached out to the Lurker team.

Award stays do not count towards the promotion

From the Terms and Conditions:

nights spent while redeeming an award are not eligible for bonus points
And Marriott has been consistent in not allowing award stays to count towards being used for eligibility for a promotion / megabonus (i.e. an award stay does not count as your first stay).

I have a 4 night trip to NY coming up, if I break it up into a one night at a cheaper place and 3 nights at the hotel I want, I should get double double points for the targeted promo and double take on the 3 nights correct? I think we've established that a one night stay still counts as a stay but how do the two promos stacking work?

Also, I'm seeing both the targeted and double take promo on the website but when I view promotions in my app, it shows nothing. Any of you run into that?

I reached out to the lurker team and received confirmation that a single night at a unique hotel counts as a "stay" to then begin earning points in your subsequent nights (i.e. stay at cheap Fairfield for one night will be sufficient to then earn double points for the remainder of the promotion).

Please do let us know what they say - I have the same issue.

I didn't get ay targeted bonus in February and I will be unimpressed if I'm in a control group for the next quarter.

Me too... I've been so patient with all of the various IT glitches. I'm so about this one. I just want to register, make my stays, and get the points. I'm also angry that my points from the last promo don't appear to be on target, and that Marriott decided my business isn't worth incentivizing through some of the other targeted promos I see being tossed around here.

Who knew that a loyalty program could make someone feel worthless?

I got the same error message when I registered today. Others have suggested logging out and logging back in, but I found that simply by clicking on "Promotions" again the website showed me registered.

Small qustion to Bonvoy, really we need an answer from someone from Marriott please

why only US card holder from first stay ?
why not any Bonvoy credit card holder they are total of 3 or 4 countries after USA ( UK, Canada and UAE )
They are a total of 5% if not less make us happy also why the ​discrimination and differentiation.

Yes it's not a big deal but why !
By the way we pay more to hold your credit card and we get less benefits..
In Dubai we pay $400 to hold the card.
Totally unfair..member since 2005 first time got this feeling.

I had the same thing happen - it appears as though I'm now registered, but the red box about calling in because I'm NOT registered still shows. Very confusing! Registered or not?

Does one know that if booked a non-refundable stay but not being able to stay (i.e still paid for but not really staying there) will count and you still get points for that 'stay'?

That does not count, you will have to show up and check in for the stay to count. You do not get points on a no show in general.
