Marriott points

I have not had any stay at Marriott hotel since Covd-19 occur . Currently, I have 45K point in my account, does anyone here know when the points will be expired. I was told if account has no activity, after 24 months, all the points will expired automatically. I contacted Marriott, but I don't get a clear answer about it. Please advise and thank you.

It seems they have it for every rate what so ever now.

It is disclosed if someone is looking for it, but as it was not a pre-paid rate I did not even thought to look at it. I did cancel the extra night and the money was returned in about a week.

Just to follow up, after December 31, 2022, if your account still has no activity, you'll then have until December 31, 2024 to get active again.

I log into Marriott account, section activity. I do not see the same message about point expired as you mentioned. I see the message "Our records show no account activity for at least 24 months. If you believe we missed something, please contact customer support.".

Even if your points didn't expire, you probably want to spend it on a 40k property before the end of the month anyway. After the devaluation 45k wouldn't be worth anything anyway...

Nope! On Dec. 31, 2022 they will start expiring accounts that have had no activity since Dec. 31, 2020! Unless they change their mind again!

I’ve just emailed this address with my details and been told that it can only be done over the phone! Is it that difficult to send me an email with a date?

New member question -platinum-

So I started Bonvoy beginning 2024 and put IHG be the wayside.
It is February 18th and so far I have:
27 nights stayed,
18 nights ‚Bonus‘

=45

if I stay 5 nights in Marbella in the middle of March at a property will I qualify for platinum?
or does all reset in March and I can start all over?

I am missing a general wiki on Bonvoy qualification..
thanks,

Thanks. So what is the hype about ‘resetting’ status early March each year?

You earn nights for status 1/1 to 12/31. You keep the status you earned by 12/31 until 3/1 two years (14 months) after.
